 The goons close in onto Dan, who reveals his true identity, and shows off a Pyrus Bakugan. Dan sends out Kelion who easily defeats the enemy Bakugan with ''Magma Laser'', ''Asteroid Lance'', and ''Grand Riser''. Shun, Wynton, Lia, and Lightning find out that the thugs are trying to drill into some kind of rock. The thugs from earlier appear with their Bakugan and Shun and the others are powerless because they don't want Kino and the other humans to be hurt. Dan gets a call from Wynton, but it turns out, Wynton and the others were captured and the Awesome Ones plan has failed.
-Dan confronts the two thugs to save his friends, but they force him to hand over his Bakugan. Dan's friends watch in shock as he gives Drago and Cyndeous away, Kelion insists for Dan to put him down. Dan is struggling to make a choice until Kino's Grandpa appears out of nowhere to sneak attack the thugs and stop them. Lightning works to bite through the rope and free Dan's friends, while Dan uses Kelion to fight against the grizzly bear and boxer enemy Bakugan. The boxer Bakugan attempts to attack the innocent humans before Wynton is revealed to be freed and protects the people with his Turtonium. The Awesome Ones tell the thugs who they are, unrivaled Bakugan brawlers, who search for the Core Cell and won't let these creeps do bad things. Kelion launches ''Asteroid Lance'' and defeats the boxer and grizzly bear Bakugan, stopping the thugs' plans.

 Kino and his Grandpa thank the AO for saving the island, and his Grandpa thanks them for what they did, Dan gives back Kelion but Kino tells Dan to take him with his journey to fight bad guys all over the world. Back at the airship, it is revealed the ore that was being mined by the thugs was picking up the wavelength of the Core Cell. Unfortunately the Core Cell was never on the island at all, but they made new friends and saved the island in the end.

+After losing the battle, the two thugs secretly kidnapped Kino, but he left Kelion behind as a clue to warn the Awesome Ones what happened. Dan and the others discover that the thugs are forcing Bakugan and humans to work at a mining site. Dan decides to distract by singing in a disguise, which causes some of the goons to chase after him alongside their Bakugan.
